Patricia Schweitzer Obituary

Patricia Geraldine Schweitzer “Jeri”, 86, of Auburn, WA passed away December 29th, 2020.

Jeri was born April 23, 1934 in Detroit, MI, daughter of Irene Brask Koseff and Daniel Koseff. In 1946 her family moved to a farm on Brown Hill Road in Rockdale Township, PA. She graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1952. On July 18th, 1959 she married Neil Wesley Schweitzer, of Guys Mills, PA at Saint Hippolyte Church in Frenchtown, PA. The couple moved to Seattle and built a home in Kent, WA in 1961. Jeri was a homemaker while Neil was employed for 29 years with the Boeing Company.

While managing a household and raising two children, Jeri volunteered regularly in the Kent School District as a Health Room Volunteer from 1978-1985. She was cherished for her service to her community and known for her cheerful disposition and willingness to help. A constant in her life was her love of reading. Her high school yearbook described her as “most likely to be found reading a book” and they were correct.

In retirement she enjoyed travel with her husband, making several trips across the United States by motorhome and international destinations by air and sea. They visited with family and friends nationwide before settling down in Orting, WA near their children and grandchildren. After Neil passed away in 2012, Jeri moved into senior living at Merrill Gardens in Auburn, WA. She was still reading books, working on puzzles and making friends in her final years. She was quiet, funny and “a joy to be around” until the end.

She is survived by her brother Alan Koseff and his wife Maureen Koseff of Erie, PA; her daughter Sarah St. Claire of Tacoma, WA; her son Mark Schweitzer and his wife Angela Schweitzer of Auburn, WA; her grandchildren Carl, Fiona and Evelyn; her niece Paula Martin; and her nephews Alain Koseff and Richard Koseff.

Preceding her in death are her parents Irene Brask Koseff and Daniel Koseff, her brother Roger Koseff and his wife Eva Parisot Koseff, and nephew Dean Koseff.

Jeri was laid to rest with Neil at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.

Family suggests donations be made to The American Red Cross, or in the words of Jeri, " do something nice for yourself".
