James M. Bowen of Kent, Washington passed away on January 2, 2023 in Auburn, Washington. He lived in the Kent area for over 50 years. He went into the Navy at 16 years old and served four years in the Korea War.
After leaving the Navy, he opened Jim’s Backhoe Service and subcontracted out for Puget Sound Power for many years. He was never a shy man and made many friends wherever he went. James loved traveling in his motorhome and going on cruises with his wife, Eileen.
After Retirement, he loved his trip to McDonald’s every morning, everyone knew who he was and there was never a dull moment. His last five years were spent with his daughter, Sharon, and son-in-law Scott.
Many Memories and so many tears.
He will be truly missed by all. You have earned your wings, until we see you again.
James M. Bowen is survived by his son: Jim Bowen of Tacoma, Washington; daughters: Sharon Hedlund (Scott) of Auburn, Washington, Patty Weheimer (Ben) of Federal Way, Peggy Davis (Ken) of Tacoma, Washington; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Margaret Bowen; wife: Eileen Bowen; brothers: Harry and Ed Bowen and daughter: Susie Bowen.
