Barbara Helen Johnson

Our Beloved Mother was called home to be with our Lord and dance with the Angels on May 15th, 2022, ending a lengthy battle with many health issues. Through all of her struggles Barbara leaned on her strong faith that God would see her through. She never complained and remained strong throughout. Her faith has brought comfort to her family and friends, knowing she is in Heaven's fold.

Barbara was born in Savannah Georgia to Hubert Calvin Berne and Martha Mozelle Berne. Barbara had 2 siblings, survived by, Parilee (John) Ruckman and Hubert Berne (Wanda) deceased. Barbara was the “Apple Pie” of her Daddy’s eye and joy to her Mama. Barbara was considered a typical red head firecracker! She was always full of spunk and Independence! She led many an adventure with her siblings.

At 17 years of age Barbara married Edward Nelsen and moved to Kent WA. There she birthed Randy Nelsen (Kimberly Varney) and Debra Nelsen-Mayhew (Skip Mayhew) devoting her time to being a busy mother of 2 young children. At age 22 Barbara met Myron Johnson and married. They welcomed daughter Kari Johnson-Peterson (Ross Peterson). During this time Barbara was very busy raising her 3 children and working at various jobs, including Boeing accounting office and becoming a real estate agent. At age 28 Barbara met and married Oscar Powell (deceased) and at age 38 had Lance Powell-Muscutt. Barbara continued working to support her family. At age 41 Barbara met and married Frank James Muscutt (deceased). Frank was the love of Barbaras life. Frank legally adopted Lance making them a family of 3. After Franks passing in 1999 Barbara met Gaylord (Budd) Johnson (deceased) and married. Budd and Barbara enjoyed each other's company and traveled the world. They enjoyed retirement together and had a deep abiding love for each other.

Barbara had many hobbies, she was an avid gardener, she could make anything grow. Barbara loved to read and complete crossword puzzles. Barbara was a lovely singer and loved music. Barbara enjoyed watching Asian and International programs. Barbara loved going out to lunch and shopping with friends and family.

What brought Barbara the greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always enjoyed spending time with them and catching up. She loved each and every one of them in her own way, they were all special to her.
