Virginia Mae Fox Whitney, 93 passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at her home in Puyallup. She was born February 11, 1926 in Buffalo, NY to the late Wilmer and Alvina Arndt Fox. Virginia and her late husband Maurice moved to Seattle in 1963 for his work at Boeing. She at one time owned and operated an antique and ceramic shop in Key Center. Virginia Founded the Tukwila Senior Center and established the Meals on Wheels there. She was a long-time member of the Civil Air Patrol, loved and collected elephants, was a member of the Tukwila Trailers Hiking Club but most of all enjoyed cooking and baking with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children Dawn (Terry) Lawrence of Fresno, CA, Ginger (Jim) Sovay of Puyallup, WA, Terry (Richard) Grayson of Stevensville, MT., Marilynn (Scott) Williams of Winlock, WA, April Whitney of Auburn, WA, Mary (Jerome) Curry of Phoenix, AZ, Maurice Whitney of Issaquah, WA; 28 grandchildren; 49great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Alton Fox and Marilynn Snyder. A private interment service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:15AM AT Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA with Celebration of her Life Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:am at Edline-Yahn and Covington Funeral Chapel 27221 156th Avenue SE, Kent, WA.
