Richard Joslin Obituary

Richard Lee “Dick” Joslin, resident of Kent, WA, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on June 13, 2018, at the age of 82. Dick was born on August 29th, 1935 to Howard and Edna Joslin in Wichita, Kansas.  The oldest of three children, Dick had a brother, Robert Joslin - Arab, Alabama, and sister, Jerine Young - Euless, Texas, who meant so much to him.

Dick married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Williamson, on September 27, 1969 in Indian Harbor Beach, Florida.

Dick joined the Boeing company after graduating from Wichita East High School in Wichita Kansas. He worked in various aerospace related managerial roles in Kansas, Florida and the Seattle area over the course of a long and proud career.

Dick served his community in Florida and Kent as a volunteer fire fighter, while serving in his church as a children’s Sunday school teacher and Sunday school bus ministry maintenance leader.

Dick could often be found at home rebuilding cars in his garage or doing volunteer work keeping a fleet of busses running in support of a local church’s thriving bus ministry.

After his retirement in 1993, Dick and Barb became snowbirds to Mesa, Arizona where Dick enjoyed many years of sunshine, flying remote control airplanes and running a local computer lab for seniors.

A man of deep faith in Jesus Christ, Dick perfected the art of friendship evangelism by gently sharing his faith with anyone who would listen.

Dick was preceded in death by Barbara who passed away in 2011 after a long, successful battle with breast cancer. Dick loved and cared deeply for his grandchildren, Travis, Tyler, Megan and Morgan.

In addition to family, Dick considered himself to be blessed by a wonderful circle of friends from his career with Boeing, his neighborhood, his church, his small group Bible study, the local RC Airplane club and others he befriended over his lifetime.
