Lois Sundberg Obituary

Lois Ann Sundberg (Steinhoff-Trulin) passed away at age 86 years on: Friday, May 25, 2018, at 10: 45am, at her most recent elder care home in Renton, WA.  She was born at Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle, WA on: Dec. 3, 1931 to proud parents: Doris G. & Clarence G. Steinhoff and was their only child.

Lois loved her family, array of friends, her various dogs she had throughout life, knitting, sewing, vacation travel, lighthouses, gardening, days at Shady Beach in Kirkland (where her parents operated a concession stand), crafting, collecting elephants, bowling, annual family picnics, clowning around, Higginbotham family reunions, the state of: AZ, shopping and golf.

Lois grew up in West Seattle, WA, and graduated in 1950.

The highlights of her working career were years spent at Fisher’s Flouring Mills, and Sears-Roebuck & Co.

She married Norman E. Trulin on August 1, 1952 at West Seattle Christian Church and continued to live in West Seattle during their married life. Their union produced two girls with first born named: Pamela (Pam) Ann (now: Pamela Martens-Cox) and second born named: Kimberly (Kim) Ann (now: Kim Edson).  Their marriage ended in divorce.

Later, Lois married Donald F. Sundberg on December 26th, 1970 in Seattle, WA.  Lois & Don celebrated 45 joyous years of marriage a month before Don’s death on January 30, 2016.  They were forever the happy couple and she had missed him terribly these last few years.

She’s survived by her two daughters Pam Martens-Cox (Steve Cox) of Snohomish, WA, Kim Edson (Randy Edson) of Renton, WA, Grandsons: Daniel Edson & David Edson of Renton, WA, her stepchildren: Janet Thrower (Ryan) of Kent, WA, Paula Dahl (Pat) of Spokane, WA, Leslie Heineman (Ray) of Anacortes, WA, and Neil Sundberg of Lake Stevens, WA and her step children’s descendants as well.

Donations in her memory can be sent to: “The Dementia Society of America” or “The Alzheimer’s Research Foundation,” supporting research for a cure.
