Kevin G. Manderscheid, 48, of Maple Valley, Washington passed away on July 21, 2018. Kevin was born on May 19, 1970 to Robert and Carol Manderscheid. He graduated from Bellevue Community High School in Bellevue, Iowa. Kevin attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and majored in Mathematics.
He met the love of his life, Stephanie Owens, in college and they were married on July 22, 1995. Together they have one son, Andrew, age 11. Kevin worked as a Managing Partner for Outback Steakhouse in the Seattle area for over 19 years. Kevin was known for his sense of humor and competitive nature. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved traveling with his family to Hawaii, Disneyland, and Iowa to visit family. He was an avid sports fan, he especially loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburg Steelers, and the Seattle Mariners.
Kevin will be sadly missed by his wife, Stephanie; son, Andrew; parents Robert and Carol Manderscheid of LaMotte, Iowa; brother, Wayne (Rebecca) of Keller, Texas; sisters, Julie (Mike, deceased) Sabers of Dubuque, Iowa and Michelle (Paul) Benschoter of Des Moines, Iowa; mother-in-law, Donna Williams of Richland, Iowa; sister-in-law, Stacy (Denis) Greiner of Otumwa, Iowa; brother-in-laws, Mike Owens of Dawson, Iowa, Chris (Lindsey) Owens of Iowa City, Iowa, and Jeff Owens of Ollie, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Black Diamond, Washington with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to End Brain Cancer Initiative, the American Brain Tumor Association, or Evergreen Scholarship Foundation.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who supported them during Kevin’s battle with cancer. A special thanks to our neighbors, friends, and our Outback family for their ongoing love and support.
