Joyce Daker was born August 28, 1928 in Seattle, WA to Simon and Ruth Edwards. She lived on Vashon Island until the family moved to Seattle in 1945. Joyce graduated in 1947 from Lincoln High School. After graduation she attended Mary Stone Beauty School and graduated from there in 1949. She met her dear husband, Gale, at the Seattle Nazarene Church. Her parents said he was a keeper with his beautiful teeth, smile, and brown eyes. Also, he had a new car!! They married on October 20, 1950.
Through the years four children blessed her life, Donelle (Jack) Schooling of Kent, Steve (Sue) Daker of Bonney Lake, Lesley (Gary) Grant of Waldport, OR, and Cheri (Butch) Damgaard of Federal Way. There are seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with one on the way. These children were her delight. She is survived by her sister, Symone (Ray) McKenize of Nampa, ID and her husband, Gale Daker of Kent.
Joyce was a wonderful wife and mother. She was gifted with a love of hospitality and genuine caring of others. She will be greatly missed. Memorials may be made to Frontiers, Worker ID 003653, PO Box 60730, Phoenix, AZ 85082.
