James William Kane

James William Kane, age 85, passed away November 8, 2018 in Auburn, WA. Jim was born February 8, 1933 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late William and Jeannie Cave Kane. Jim was an Engineer at Boeing for over thirty years retiring in 1995; taking the “golden handshake” to spend time managing his rental business. Jim was a music lover and was the leader of the 60-member Harmony Kings Men’s Chorus. He also was an avid fisherman and loved digging up geoducks on Vashon Island; taking along his grandchildren and any out of towner to experience the fun.  Jim cared for his wife Judith unselfishly during her illness at home, but that did not slow him down.  He will be remembered for his abundant amount of energy, unconditional love, his willingness to help out any friend or neighbor in need, and getting the job done right the first time.

Survivors include his beloved son Jon Kane (Mayumi Watanabe) of Kent, WA; step daughters Tracy Wadley of Covington, WA. and Debra Benson of Covington, WA; Sisters Nancy Primmer of Arizona and Linda Tabler of Arizona; grandchildren Tyler Kane of Auburn, WA, Joshua Kane of Federal Way, WA, Rachel (Derek) Alberthal of Thorp, WA. And step grandchildren Alycia Benson, Amber Benson, Garrett Benson, Cole Wadley and great-grandchild Aubrey Locke. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife Judith in 2017 and two sisters. Friends are invited to a memorial reception to celebrate Jim’s life and share some great memories at the Atrium of Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Home, 27221 156th Avenue SE, Kent, WA Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:30pm.
