David Weeks

David F Weeks of Auburn, WA passed away OCT 31, 2018 at the age of 79. David was born June 29, 1939 in Everett, WA.

David was preceded in Death by his son Thomas David, his father Cecil, mother Mary, Brothers Allen & Roger. Sister in laws Marlene & Helen.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann, his daughters, Marlee Weeks (Mary), Julie Whittaker (Mark), & Heather Hillstrand (Johnathan). Nine grandchildren: Chloe, Cambre, Bayley, Carson, Alexa, Erin, Allison, David, & Elizabeth. Two great grandchildren: Summer Mae & Raelyn Grace.

David grew up on a farm in Iowa for 10 years until they moved back to Monroe, Washington. David graduated Monroe High School in 1958, then joined the US Air Force where he met his Mary Ann while stationed in Morocco and they married on September 7th, 1963. David worked at Boeing while attending aircraft mechanics school getting his A & P license. He then started his career at Alaska Airlines where he retired after 32 years of dedicated service.

David had his private pilot’s license and loved to fly his Cessna 150. He also liked building and flying remote control airplanes. David also enjoyed riding dirt bikes in the summer and snow mobiles in the winter. He taught his daughters at a young age to ride and work on their own motorcycles. They spent many wonderful evenings with family and friends enjoying campfires at their home on Shady Lake. One of David’s greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

After retirement, David & Mary Ann lived and traveled in their motorhome for 5 years. They then purchased a home in Sahuarita, AZ where they resided for the next 11 years.  David and Mary Ann moved back to Washington in 2016 to be close to family.

David was surrounded by his family when he went to be with the Lord the evening of October 31, 2018.
