Life Legacy
Betty Ann (Harp) Gray, 78, of Kent passed away peacefully on July 28, 2012 after a long illness. Betty Ann was born on July 1, 1934 to William Henry and Anna (Skaar) Harp in Wibaux, Montana. She graduated from Wibaux County High School in 1951. She moved to Billings, Montana in 1953 to pursue her career as a professional secretary. In the spring of 1956, she moved to Seattle where she met Alfred Budd Gray. Budd and Betty Ann were married on December 28, 1956 and together had 4 sons: Michael, Patrick, Tim (Trina) and Terrence. She worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Moriarty, Olson, and Campbell. She then worked for the City of Kent in the city clerk’s office for 20 years until her retirement. She is survived by her sons, her brothers Robert (Marlys) and Wayne Harp and sister Patricia Carlson; grandchildren Bethany, Ryan (Beth), Ashlie (Danny), Rikki, Payton, Shelby, Caleb, Juliana, Chandler, Cecily, Keaton, Aidan, and Colby, and great grandchildren Emma and Jorja as well as a large extended family of nieces, nephews, brother- and sisters-in-law. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Budd (July 29, 2011), brothers William, Joshua (“Bud”), and Patrick Harp, brother-n-law Lowell Carlson, and granddaughter Kaylie. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Kent, Washington. A reception will be held at the church followed by committal service at 3:00 P.M. at Tahoma National Cemetery also in Kent.
