Life Legacy
Michael James Heck
December 6, 1955 – July 26, 2012
Mike Heck was born on December 6, 1955 in Tacoma, Washington to James and Helen Heck. He was raised in the Renton and graduated from Renton High School in 1974. He continued his education at Highline Community College graduating from there in 1977. Mike met the love of his life, Janet, while they were both seniors at Renton High School. They were married in 1977. They moved into their home in 1978 and welcomed son David in 1984 and son Paul in 1987. Mike loved being a husband and father. His boys were always a priority and he was a wonderful role model for them.
Mike loved to listen to music. He always remembered so many details about different musicians. Mike also loved to play cards—cards of all types! He treasured his pinochle, Pedro and 500 card friends! Mike loved to water and snow ski, play volleyball and bike on the bike trails around the area. He was so thankful for his skiing and biking buddies, Mike, Debbie, Karyn, Paul, Jim and Joanie and that they loved to play with him!
Mike went home to be with his Lord on July 26, 2012 at the age of 56 following a courageous battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Janet; sons and daughters-in-laws, David and Katlyn, Paul and Lauren. His mother Helen; brother Steve and wife Sherrie; sister Laurie Sweaney and husband Don, and sisters Julie Sweaney and Shelley Heck. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Eileen McBain, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Linda and Bill Stoneburner and Steve Nelson as well as nieces, Lisa Brunson, Julie Serna, Stacy Nelson, Stephanie Heck and Kelly Sweaney and nephews Michael Nelson and Kellan and Kyle Sweaney.
