Marie May (Keffel) Pace

At the age of 92, Marie May Pace passed away peacefully at home. She was born May 24, 1931, in Dunsmuir, CA.

She loved riding and training Thoroughbred race horses with her husband, Eugene Frank Pace, who preceded her in death in 1998.  She was a trailblazer in women's rights. In the state of Washington, Marie was the first licensed female Thoroughbred gallop "boy" since the word "girl" was not allowed on the license.

She is survived by 3 daughters; Diane Daniels; Carol Englert, and Sherrie Newton. Marie is survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Keffel, and is survived by her brother, Zane Keffel.

She is at peace with Jesus and we will miss her dearly.
